Enabling Tor protection

Tor provides additional protection for your IP address. Enabling this feature will mean Zashi will use the Tor network to fetch exchange rates, send transactions, retrieve transaction data, and to connect to third party APIs.

For your privacy, we recommend that you enable Tor if it is permitted in your jurisdiction. While your network-level privacy is greatly increased, the Tor network tends to be slower, so you may find it has an impact particularly on synchronising your wallet if you haven't opened it in a while.

Enabling Tor protection

In Zashi, tap on the '...' menu > More > Advanced Features > Beta: Tor Protection

Tap 'Enable' and 'Save changes'.

Tor protection greatly increases your network-level privacy.

Tor and Currency Conversion

When Tor is enabled, exchange rates for the currency conversion feature necessarily are requested over Tor.

However, to prevent inadvertent fetching of rates outside of Tor, currency conversion is automatically disabled whenever you disable Tor. To fetch rates again after disabling Tor, navigate to the Currency Conversion panel in the main settings menu.
