Rescanning an existing Keystone wallet
If you pair a Keystone wallet that has an existing ZEC balance with a new instance of Zodl, the Keystone will show the balance only going forward from the time at which you connect it. Though this initial balance may say zero, your existing funds are still there.
We are currently working on a rescan option for Keystone wallets, so that you can tell Zodl to go back in time and recognize funds from prior to pairing.
In the meantime, there is a workaround by restoring your Zodl wallet and immediately afterwards, connecting your Keystone hardware wallet. (You may use airplane mode to pause the syncing, between restoring Zodl and connecting your Keystone.) This way, it will begin scanning the Keystone from where it's at in syncing your main Zodl wallet.
Performing the rescan
- Make certain your Zodl recovery phrase is correctly backed up and available. (You will need it to recover your wallet after step 2!)
- Reset Zodl ('...' > More > Advanced Settings > Reset Zodl)
- Restore using your Zodl wallet's recovery phrase, setting an early enough wallet birthday height for when you began depositing to the Keystone. (You can use the 'Estimate block height' feature for this.)
- Immediately place phone in airplane mode
- Connect your Keystone wallet
- Disable airplane mode and continue syncing
- Confirm your Keystone balance after syncing is complete
