How do I obtain a refund for my swap?

In some cases, refunds for swaps may be necessary. Most of the time, refunds are automatic and made to the refund address you provided when creating the swap.

Sometimes a refund may need to be manually processed. Following the 24 hours in which the swap is valid, the NEAR team will be glad to assist with the refund process.

Why do refunds occur?

A refund may happen for a few reasons:

  • An insufficient amount was deposited
  • Not enough liquidity for the selected token for the given slippage
  • The wrong asset was sent, or it was sent on the wrong chain
  • More than the required amount was sent (in which case, the swap will fulfill and you'll be refunded the overage)

Is a manual refund needed?

If the wrong asset was deposited, or you find in the swap status on the NEAR Intents Explorer that a refund is needed, you'll need to contact the NEAR team to process a manual refund.

See our article on checking your swap status.
