Enabling Currency Conversion

By default, Zodl does not enable currency conversion to USD to protect your privacy.

New wallets are prompted to enable this, however, as a useful feature.

If you enable currency conversion, ZEC-USD rates will be retrieved from CoinMarketCap, who will see your IP address unless you've enabled the protection described below.

Protecting your IP address

To protect your IP address, you may either ensure you are always using a VPN (Nym accepts Zcash!) – or, for strong network privacy across Zodl, enable Tor.

Enabling and disabling Currency Conversion

If you don't see a USD price, such as in the send Zcash flow, you'll need to enable conversion to specify or reference dollar amounts.

To enable or disable Currency Conversion at any time:

'...' menu → More → Currency Conversion

Note: If you have Tor enabled along with Currency Conversion, and you disable Tor, then Currency Conversion will be automatically disabled as well until you enable it as above. This prevents inadvertent leaks of your IP address to the price source provider.
